Southeast Asia's Most Secure and Strategic Typhoon-Free Lay-up Facility
Located in Davao Gulf inthe Southern Philippines (approx 125°E, 6°N), Malalag Bay is the most qualified lay-up facility in Southeast Asia. Operational and Lloyd's accredited since 1975, Malalag is operated by APC - a lay-up agent accredited by the Philippine Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA). In coordination with Malayan Towage and Salvage Corporation (SALVTUG) (QAS international ISO 9001:2008 registered firm), APC provides a fully vertically integrated lay-up service.
Malalag has serviced in excess of 200 ships, ranging in size from 1000 DWT Tankers and Bulkers to VLCC and Cape Size units , with a peak of 48 vessels accommodated simultaneously as recently as 2009. As of October 2015, a total of seven(7) vessels are laid-up at Malalag Bay, Davao and expecting to increase to 12 vessels until end of the year.
In addition to strategic positioning in a typhoon-free zone, competitive lay-up fees and a 100% safety record, Malalag is able to accommodate both "hot" and "cold" lay-up. Reference and further information are available upon request.
